Search Concho County Cases

Need a Concho County case number, a hearing date, or a filing from an official file? A Concho County case search begins with one question: which court holds the case. The district and constitutional county courts share a single clerk in Concho County, while justice and municipal courts keep their own records. Online tools help, but no single site shows everything. An index here, an electronic filing there, a hearing on a third. Search the court docket by name or by cause number, then check the statewide lookup to compare. When an entry is missing or you need a certified copy, call the right clerk. Each channel covers a different slice of the public record.

Searching Cases by Name

Begin a Concho County case search with the court level, not the person’s name alone. Felony, district civil, family, juvenile, and child-protection files belong to the 119th District Court. County misdemeanors and probate matters route to the constitutional County Court. The combined Concho County and District Clerk supports both of those levels. Justice traffic and small-claims matters stay with the countywide Justice of the Peace, while an Eden ordinance or Class C case stays with Eden Municipal Court.

The county links to LGS Online Records Search, but its fields depend on the office and record type selected after login. The official help material gives a last-name search as an example. It does not establish that every Concho court docket is online. A careful name search uses the narrowest fields the chosen record type offers and checks the result’s office and document type before treating it as a case match.

  1. Open the official LGS service from the clerk page and choose Guest Login for free index access.
  2. Select the Concho office and the record type that fits the known court.
  3. Enter the last name and any other available criteria, then run the search.
  4. Open More Information or Images and confirm that the result is a court case rather than another clerk record.

Concho County Court-Level Check

A person can appear in more than one court, and a broad name match does not identify the right file. The Texas Judicial Directory lists the Concho County Court, countywide Justice of the Peace, and Eden Municipal Court. The 119th District Court serves Concho County as well. Match the case type, filing place, and issuing agency to one of those venues before narrowing the query.

Start here: a citation from Eden is not searched at the same desk as a district civil case or a countywide JP ticket.

Transfers can create an old and a new cause number. Search both the original and receiving court when a result suggests transfer, then ask the combined clerk to cross-reference the files.

Searching by Case Number

A cause number is the best identifier when it is known. Enter the exact number shown on a filing or notice, then try its numeric portion and dashes if the first query fails. Official re:SearchTX guidance notes that agency-supplied styles and descriptions vary, so a number often avoids the uncertainty of spelling and party order.

Concho County has not published a local cause-number pattern or code sheet. For that reason, do not reshape a known value into an invented format such as YYYY-XX-#####. Copy the number exactly, including punctuation. If the document is hard to read, the combined clerk can confirm a district or county number, the JP can confirm its own case number, and Eden Municipal Court can identify an Eden citation.

Note: Quote the court name with the cause number because the same digits may not identify a file across separate venues.

Concho re:SearchTX Filters

re:SearchTX provides a statewide layer for available electronic case information and filings. Its dashboard separates Cases, Filings, Text in Documents, and Hearings. A broad keyword can be refined by Location, Case Category, and Case Type. A case description opens Case Details, while a hearing-type link opens hearing details.

Registration or sign-in may be required, and document access can differ from index access. Criminal coverage has historically been incomplete in the statewide dataset, so a blank result is not proof that no Concho County case exists.

What a Case Search Returns

A useful Concho County case result identifies the court, cause number, filing date, case style, category, status, and any available event history. Party roles can include plaintiff, defendant, petitioner, respondent, or the State. The docket may then list filings, service, motions, notices, orders, settings, pleas, judgments, and appeal events in date order.

These fields are an expected docket anatomy, not a promise that LGS or re:SearchTX exposes each field for every Concho case. An index row can exist without a downloadable image. A document image can also be restricted even when the public can see a case heading.

Cause numberThe unique identifier used to search and request a copy.
Style and partiesThe caption plus each person’s role in the case.
Case typeThe criminal, civil, family, probate, traffic, or other category supplied by the court.
Filed date and statusWhen the matter began and whether it remains open or has a disposition.
Events and settingsFilings, rulings, hearing dates, and outcomes when the portal publishes them.

Concho Guest Index and Images

LGS Guest Login gives free index information and image previews according to the county-linked FAQ. A registered account is needed to purchase full images. Searchers select an office, then a record type, enter the criteria offered for that type, and inspect More Information or Images in the result list.

The difference matters. An LGS index is not automatically a chronological court docket, and a purchased image is not automatically a certified court copy. The service applies a $0.30 transaction fee to each image purchase, but the official material did not publish the image price or a Concho subscription rate. Ask the clerk for a certified copy when an authenticated record is required.

Note: The county says digitized records update at midnight, so a new filing may not appear during the same day.

Statewide vs County Case Search

LGS and re:SearchTX overlap, but neither is a complete substitute for the other. The county-linked service focuses on record types a participating Concho office chooses to publish. The statewide service searches participating Texas case data, filings, document text, and hearings where those materials are available. For the clearest Concho County case search, compare both and confirm the result with the custodian.

Missing Concho County Results

A blank screen can mean the query is too exact, the record type is offline, the file is old, or the court has not supplied the data. It may also mean that an index is public while an image is restricted. Try a shorter style, the surname alone, the numeric cause number, and the Concho location filter before changing channels.

Next, call the responsible office. The combined clerk is at 325-732-4322 for district and county records. The 119th District Court coordinator is at 325-659-6570 for a current setting. The countywide JP is at 325-732-4706, and Eden Municipal Court is at 325-869-2211. Older files may remain on paper or microfilm.

Do not treat “not found online” as a finding about whether a case exists. Ask the custodian to distinguish missing coverage, older media, and restricted access.

Access and Restricted Cases

Ordinary public Concho County records may show a case number, style, court, filing date, events, settings, and disposition. Juvenile information is limited by Texas Family Code Chapter 58. Sealed civil material follows court orders and Texas sealing procedure. Adoption, some child-protection material, protected addresses, and personal identifiers can also be withheld or redacted.

Texas judiciary records do not all follow the ordinary Public Information Act route. Government Code section 552.0035 directs judiciary access to court rules and other law. Request access from the court or clerk that holds the case, state the cause number, and provide any order or authority that permits access. Never try to bypass a portal restriction.

Concho County Official Copies

After locating an index, decide whether a plain image, certified docket, judgment, order, pleading, or reporter transcript is needed. Email a specific request to amber.hall@conchocounty.gov or mail it to P.O. Box 98, Paint Rock, TX 76866. In-person requests go to 152 N. Roberts. The clerk also publishes fax 325-732-2040, but the county does not say that copy requests are accepted by fax.

State the court, cause number, style, document title and date, plain or certified choice, number of copies, desired delivery method, and contact details. Ask for the current total and accepted payment method before sending funds. For a district proceeding transcript or audio question, contact the court reporter through 325-659-6570.
